Shabnam Zafarmand was born in Iran into a talented family. From a young age, she demonstrated a deep passion for drawing and painting. She learned oil painting from her older brother, Siavash Zafarmand, a professional fine artist in Iran. During her high school years, Shabnam’s exceptional talent was recognized by her teachers and school staff, leading her to win first place in the Tehran district high school art contest.
At 20, she began teaching art to children and later taught fine art at a middle school in Tehran. By 22, she had participated in two international art exhibitions. In 1997, she migrated to the U.S. and later opened Mission Art Center in Orange, California, in 2005, which became one of Orange County’s most successful art schools.
Shabnam continued to showcase her artwork, exhibiting at her studio in 2012 and later at the Laguna Beach International Art-A-Fair Festival in 2013. In 2014, her story was featured in an OC Register article by Bill Johnson. She specializes in photorealism, impressionism, surrealism, and portrait oil painting and remains dedicated to teaching art to children and adults.
